During their time in camp, your child will rotate through all of the activities listed below. 
The GPS activity will require your child to be outside for an extended period of time. 

Lost & Found?

What once was lost can now be found through the use of GPS (Global Positioning System) coordinates. Learn how to use a hand held GPS to navigate through your world. You will then use your new skills to locate a supply drop for your missions ahead.

Where are we Going?

Since the Gemini 5 flight NASA and its astronauts have created mission patches for every manned mission to space. You will create your own mission patch to represent your journey through PV Summer STEAM Space Camp.

Down we Go!

Design and build your own Martian lander. Learn how NASA lands vessels on other planets, then utilizing the Engineering Design Process, you will design and build your own Martian lander. Your Martian lander will need to protect your astronaut from the risks associated with landing on a Martian surface.

What’s Cooking?

​

Protect your astronaut from the friction of re-entering Earth’s atmosphere. Utilizing the Engineering Design Process, you will design and construct your own heat shield to protect your astronaut from a simulated Earth entry.

How Did You Get Up There?

Utilizing the Engineering Design Process, you will design your own high-pressure bottle rocket. The goal is to go as high as possible in the most efficient way you can.
